Messages & sending copies
Messages is your account's inbox: Workspace copies people send you, notices about your Library and plan, and announcements from the Mesh Learning team.
Where Messages lives
The Messages button sits in the header on Home, inside a Workspace, and in Settings. An amber dot means something is unread.
- Inbox holds received messages, Sent holds your outgoing copies, and Archive holds messages you have put away.
- Search, filter, and sort work on the view you are in.
- Check individual messages or use the top-left checkbox to select all messages currently shown. The toolbar shows how many are selected and offers Archive. Newly loaded messages stay unchecked until you select them.
What arrives
- Workspace copies
- Someone sent you a copy, your copy is ready, a copy needs a decision from you, or one you sent could not be prepared.
- Library storage
- Your Library is larger than your plan allows, or is about to be, with the date that matters and Manage Library storage.
- Account
- Your paid plan is ending soon, or a payment did not go through; Plan & usage opens the page that fixes it.
- Announcements
- News from the Mesh Learning team, sometimes with a button to the exact page it is about.
Open, archive, or delete
- Opening a message marks it read and shows its button, if it has one.
- Checking a message only selects it. Archive puts selected messages away without marking them read. You can also choose Archive message from an open message.
- In Archive, select messages and choose Move to inbox to bring them back with their read state intact.
- Open an archived message to find Delete permanently. This removes only the message: the Workspace it mentions stays exactly as it was.
Sending a copy
A copy is a separate Workspace, not a shared one. Each person gets their own version, and edits after that never cross over.
- Open the Workspace, choose Messages, then Send a workspace copy. On Home, choose Send a copy in the card's menu.
- Enter or paste up to 50 Mesh account emails. Each address becomes a chip you can edit or remove.
- Choose Send a copy. Each matching account receives an invitation in its Messages; Mesh never tells you whether an address has an account.
- Open Sent in Messages to find earlier sends. Cancel send stops unfinished copies; Workspaces already added stay with their owners.
- Received copies show the sender's saved name and account email. Older invitations may show only a name.
- An invitation shows the date it stops being available; after that, send again.
- Sending uses no Mesh credits and changes nothing in your Workspace.
What a copy includes
Everything you saved travels; everything personal stays home.
Travels
- Topics with their Overviews and Steps
- Notes
- Library files and saved web pages, including ones not in Library storage
- Images, Videos, and Practice sets
- Board pages, drawings, pins, and flags
Stays home
- Chats and Mesh's Memory
- Your color, initials, and panel layout
- Study progress: Steps start unchecked and Practice starts without attempts
- Your plan, credits, and Mesh settings
Receiving a copy
- Open the message and choose View workspace to see the title, who sent it, what it holds, and the date it stops being available.
- Under Library for Mesh, check the files Mesh may read right away; every file is copied, and unchecked ones start hidden. If your Library allowance is short, a checkbox lets you add with some files hidden to fit.
- Choose Add to my workspaces or Decline. Adding returns you to Home, where the new card reads Waiting, Copying files, then Finishing while the copy builds in the background.
- When it is done, a message offers Open your workspace. From then on it is an ordinary Workspace, counted like any other.
- Copying continues if you close the browser.
- If your Workspace count or storage runs out first, the message says so and the card offers Review copy.
