References
A Reference is a small colored link to one thing in your Workspace: a note, a Library item, a Topic, a spot on the Board. Tap one, wherever it is, and its card offers the same two choices: Go to it, or Show Mesh to put it in your next message.
Try it. Tap the Reference.
Content and locations
A Reference can point at seven kinds of thing, each in its own color:
- Folder or Topic
- A Folder of Topics, or one part of it with its lessons.
- Library item
- A file, pasted text or saved web page.
- Note
- A page you and Mesh write.
- Image
- A saved picture.
- Video
- A saved YouTube video.
- Practice set
- A quiz.
- Board flag
- A named spot on the Board, or an item pinned there.
Make one
Type @ wherever you write, then a name, and pick the item: in a note, in a message to Mesh, or on the Board. Mesh puts References in its replies too. A Reference only links: to make an item part of a Topic, add it to the Topic's Material.
On the Board, a Reference is a card
On the Board, a Reference is a card you can move and resize. Place one with Add reference in the toolbar, or type @ on the Board.
When the item changes
Rename an item and its References follow. Delete it and its Reference cards leave the Board, and written References read No longer available.
