Chat

Chat is where you talk with Mesh. Ask in your own words, point at exactly what you mean, and answer Mesh's questions.

The message box

Open Mesh from the right rail and type. Beside the box: Show Mesh (@) to point at something, Commands (/) for your saved commands, the mode button for Tutor mode or Assistant mode, and a ring for how much usage is left.

Snip · Page 1check my work — did I fix it?

You fixed it — and your circle was the right catch: line 1 had two oxygens going in and only one coming out. The last line balances.

At Balancing practice, why do I need the 2 in front of H₂O?

Worked for 6s

Count the atoms: you start with 4 H and 2 O, so you need two waters — that's the 2.

Ask Mesh

Point at what you mean

Focus hands Mesh the exact thing you mean. Type @ and pick a note, a file, a Topic or anything else: it joins your message as a pill, and Mesh reads it first. Show Mesh on any Reference does the same. Quote under a message points back at what was said. For part of the Board, use Spot or Snip (Show Mesh a place).

Attach pictures

Paste a picture into the message box, or type /snip to grab part of the Board, up to four in one message. Mesh sees a picture only in the message it came with. A pasted picture is saved to Images; Save to Images keeps a snip.

Questions from Mesh

When Mesh needs something from you (which example, what you think will happen, a check on what you learned), the question rises over the message box, and Mesh waits for your answer. Tap a choice, type your own, work it out by hand with Answer on Board, or Skip.

  • Several questions come one at a time, then go to Mesh together.
  • Hide folds a question to a bar; it still waits for you.
  • A bold amber line at the end of a reply is not a question: it's what to do next, like taking your Practice.

Watch the work

While Mesh works, a line says what Mesh is doing: reading, searching, drawing. Then it reads Worked for and how long. Tap it to see each step, and everything Mesh made or edited, ready to open.

Keep several chats

A Workspace keeps as many chats as you like: the strip on the panel's left edge lists them, with New chat and search. Keep a lesson in one chat and each reply picks up where the last one left off. Deleting a chat can't be undone.

While Mesh answers

  • Send a correction or another detail, and Mesh takes it into the same reply.
  • Close the panel or leave the Workspace and Mesh keeps working; the reply waits for you. Mesh draws on the Board only while the Workspace is open.
  • Stop response keeps what Mesh already wrote and saved.
  • A reply that can't finish says so, with Retry when trying again can help.
  • A Workspace answers one chat at a time; different Workspaces can answer at once.
