What goes on the Board
A Board page holds whatever the work needs: your own drawing, saved sources sitting open on it, cards that point at other items, named spots, and whatever Mesh adds.
What a Board page can hold
- Your own drawing
- Ink, highlights, text, arrows, shapes, and sticky notes, all from the toolbar.
- Pinned content
- A saved item — a PDF, an Image, a Video — sitting open on the page, still tied to the original.
- Reference cards
- A card that points at one item anywhere in the Workspace instead of copying it here.
- Board flags
- A name for one exact spot, so anything in the Workspace can send you back to it.
- What Mesh adds
- Formatted text, diagrams, or saved Images, arranged together in one titled frame.
Pinned content
Pinning puts a saved item right on the page — the PDF sitting open beside your working notes. Start from the item itself: Pin to Board sits above its preview in Library, Images, and Videos. The pin stays tied to the saved item — its header opens the original anytime, and Mesh can look at a pin right where it sits (Mesh on the Board). Every pin is also a Board flag from the moment it lands, so a Note, a Topic, a chat, or Mesh can point straight at it.
- Library files
- PDFs, text files, Markdown, and saved web pages become tiles you read in place. A PDF asks which pages to pin first.
- Images
- Any saved Image lands as a picture tile. Paste a picture straight onto the Board and it saves to Images and pins in one step.
- Videos
- A saved Video pins with its player, and each copy remembers its own spot in the video.
Note: Notes don't pin. To put a Note on the Board, place a Reference card instead.
Lock and unlock a pin
A pin sits locked on the page, so the Board stays yours to draw on.
- A new pin arrives unlocked and selected: drag it where it belongs and size it.
- Click anywhere else and it locks itself. That is how you set a pin down.
- Locked means it stays put: draw and select right across it and it won't budge, while the buttons in its own header keep working.
- Unlock sits in the pin's header: unlock to move, resize, or delete it, then lock it back down.
Pin the same source more than once
The same source can be pinned as often as you like, and each copy is its own tile — its own page, its own size, its own flag.
- See and add copies from the source itself: the Pinned chip above its preview lists every copy, and its attached :plus: always pins another — Library shows it.
- Take one off: Unpin removes that copy and leaves the rest.
Reference cards
On a Board page a Reference is a card you place: the item's icon, its live name, and a go-to button. Add one with Add reference in the Board toolbar, or type @ right on the page. References covers what it can point at and how the card behaves.
Tip: Unpinning is not deleting: Unpin — or deleting an unlocked pin on the Board — takes that copy off the page and leaves the saved item right where it was.
