Model & reasoning
Model sets how capable Mesh is in a chat; Reasoning sets how long it thinks before answering. You pick both per chat. Your plan decides which Model levels you can choose, while every plan gets every Reasoning level.
Choose a model
- Light
- Recommended for most work. Fastest and lightest on credits.
- Standard
- Use when Light struggles. Better with complex work and images.
- Heavy
- Use rarely, only for the most complex work and images.
Heads up: Heavy can use dramatically more credits than Light and over twice as many as Standard, so picking it asks you to confirm first. Save it for questions that earn it.
Choose reasoning effort
Reasoning is how much Mesh thinks before answering. Lower favors speed; higher trades time and Mesh credits for better answers. Mesh also adapts within a level, so a simple question stays quick even on High.
- Low
- Quick answers with light thinking. Fast lookups, small edits, simple questions.
- Medium
- A balanced level for everyday multi-step work: planning, comparing, working a problem through.
- High
- Careful thinking for work where quality matters more than speed: hard problems, bigger requests, work that touches several things at once.
- Extra
- The deepest thinking Mesh offers. Reach for it when High is not enough; it takes noticeably longer and can use more Mesh credits.
Settings belong to the chat
A Workspace starts new chats on Light with High reasoning. Whenever you choose another Model or Reasoning level in the message box, that pair quietly becomes where the next new chat in that Workspace starts. The chat already open changes immediately, every existing chat keeps its own choices, and changing them later never changes an earlier answer.
Mid-response, the choice waits
You can't switch Model or Reasoning while Mesh is responding anywhere in the Workspace. The choice beside the message box is what the next response uses.
Plan and model are separate
Light, Standard, and Heavy set a chat's capability, and your plan decides which are on the menu: Free and Plus work with Light and Standard; Premium and Max add Heavy. Reasoning is never gated — every plan gets every level. Plans & Mesh credits covers what each plan includes.
Tip: Coming back to an old chat? It is still on the Model you last chose there, so a chat you once moved to Heavy is still using Heavy's credits — the choice beside the message box names the one you are in.
