Messages & responses

A chat is one saved conversation, and a Workspace can hold as many as you like. Mesh answers one of them at a time.

Keep several chats going

Your list of chats opens by pulling the slim strip on the panel's left edge, which also keeps New chat and Search in reach. A new chat starts out named New chat, and Mesh may give it a better name after answering. Text size changes the reading size of that chat's messages, working summaries, and questions — each chat remembers its own, and a new chat starts with the active chat's size.

  • Each chat holds its own unsent draft: your text, a quote, staged Commands, Focus, and pictures. Switch away and back and it is waiting, though a full page reload can clear it.
  • Opening a chat to look around doesn't move it under Last used; sending a message or renaming it does.
  • Delete the last remaining chat and a fresh empty one takes its place.
  • If you delete the chat Mesh is answering in, Mesh stops that response, cleans it up, and then deletes the chat.

Keep following up in the same chat

The same chat carries forward your conversation and the work Mesh already did there, including what it searched, read, created, or changed. That helps the next message continue without retracing every step. When Mesh needs the current contents or is about to change something, it checks that item again.

One response at a time

Mesh answers one chat at a time, across your whole account. Two responses never edit your work at once.

  • Send from another Workspace and Mesh tells you to stop or wait for that response first.
  • You can still read, draft your next message, and create or rename chats.
  • The answering chat shows Stop; from another chat in the same Workspace, Go to chat takes you to it.

Closing does not cancel

Closing the Mesh panel, leaving the Workspace, or reloading the page never cancels a response — Mesh keeps working, and the response and its outcomes are waiting when you come back. If it paused for a question, the same question returns. Live words and play-by-play from before a reload are not replayed.

Stop or try again

While Mesh is answering, Send message becomes Stop response. Stopping keeps any text that has already arrived. You can also stop while Mesh is preparing your message. A message that could not be sent stays in its chat with Retry, Copy, and Dismiss, keeping your next draft separate. If the connection drops, Check status checks the same response without sending again. If a failed response offers Retry, Mesh tries again with the chat's current Model & thinking effort. If a Command or picture fails, send it again.

Watch the work as it happens

While Mesh works, the answer keeps you posted. In a long chat, you may briefly see Organizing this long conversation before Mesh continues. You will also see Thinking until words start arriving, a short summary of what it is doing, then named steps such as Searching your library or Creating a note, each one running, done, or failed. History & outcomes tells you which of those signals is progress and which is proof.

Chips that look like References

A quote, a Board attachment, a saved Command, and the row naming what Mesh created or edited all wear the same compact chip style as a Reference without being one — each belongs to one message. See all four side by side.

Tip:  A light travels around the Mesh rail button while a response runs; a green check on it means one finished while you were away. Open the panel and the check clears.
