Layout & panels
The Workspace keeps every part of your work close without locking you into one layout. Move quickly between content and tools, arrange panels around the Board, and clear the frame when you want more room.
The Workspace frame
The Board fills the middle. Your organization and content open from the left. Mesh, your AI agent, opens from the right. The top bar runs across the top, and the Board toolbar sits along the bottom.
The rails open the panels
The vertical button strips on the Workspace's left and right edges are called rails. Choose a button to open its panel; choose it again to close it.
Left rail
- Holds your organization and content: the Map stays first, and Notes, Library, Images, and Videos drag into whatever order you like.
Right rail
- Opens Mesh, your AI agent.
Your conversation and ongoing work with Mesh.
Auto-collapse this rail
The bottom button folds or restores this edge of the frame.
The top bar and Board
The top bar keeps account-wide navigation and Workspace controls in one place.
- The path back to The Home screen and the Workspace you are in.
- Workspace settings for the current Workspace.
- Workspace search for moving to another Workspace in your account.
- The Feedback and support button for reaching the Mesh Learning team.
- Your profile settings.
The Board and its toolbar fill the middle and bottom of the Workspace.
Dock, float, and focus
A panel starts docked, taking its own resizable space beside the Board. Drag its inside edge to change its width. Use the hand-shaped Float button, or drag the panel's header, to lift it over the Board; a floating panel moves by its header and resizes from any edge or corner.
Try it. Drag the panel header, choose the highlighted Float or Dock button, or use Full screen. Close the panel with X, then reopen it from the Notes rail button.
- Navigation & Active Topic
- Back and Forward revisit content. Go to Active Topic returns to your current Map position. Navigation & search and the Map guide explain both.
- Docs guide
- The question mark opens this panel's page in these Docs. In the Map, it opens the Topics guide while a Topic Hub is open and the Map guide otherwise. You will find the same help button around the Workspace, and you can hide these buttons in Support. Open Docs in Settings stays available.
- Float or dock
- The hand lifts a docked panel over the Board; the dock button returns a floating panel to its side.
- Focus
- Fills the work area with this panel so you can focus on it alone.
- Close
- Puts the panel away. Its content stays saved.
Collapse the frame
Each edge of the frame can get out of your way on its own. You do not hide an edge by hand — you switch on auto-collapse for it, and from then on it stays tucked away until you reach for it.
Try it. Tap a highlighted button and that piece tucks away. Hover the handle it leaves at the edge to peek, or tap it to bring the piece back.
Each highlighted edge button controls only that part of the frame.
Full canvas, under the top bar at right, changes all four together.
- One edge at a time
- The top bar, each rail, and the Board toolbar all carry their own switch — Enable header auto-collapse on the top bar, and the matching one on each of the others.
- Reach for it and it comes back
- A tucked-away edge leaves a small handle behind. Move onto the handle and its controls slide out for as long as you need them, then tuck away again when you move off.
- All four at once
- Enable full canvas mode at the top-right tucks the top bar, both rails, and the toolbar away together. Disable full canvas mode brings them all back.
Your layout settings are remembered
- The Workspace remembers your left-rail order, panel widths, and frame-collapse choices.
- This browser remembers whether the sidebar menu is docked or floating, how wide it is, and each panel's sort choice.
- Open panels, floating positions, and focus mode last for the current session.
