Mesh on the Board

Hand Mesh the exact view

Type these in chat, use the toolbar buttons, or press / right on the Board. Add views, snips, and pasted pictures together in the order Mesh should see them. Every picture stays with that message; Image settings decides whether Board views and snips also appear in Images.

What Mesh can look at on its own

Besides the view or snip you hand over, Mesh can take its own picture of the Board. It aims at one of four places, and it can only take a picture of the Board page you have open. Looking never moves your view.

Your current view

Exactly what your screen is showing - the same frame you would hand over with Board view. This is what Mesh takes when it isn't aiming anywhere in particular.

The whole page

Everything on the page you're on, shrunk into one picture. It shows Mesh the shape of the page; on a busy page the words come out too small to read.

Your last mark

A close-up of the last thing you drew or changed. Your own marks count — things you dropped in, and anything Mesh placed, don't. Reloading the page clears it.

One of your flags

A close-up of the spot a Board flag marks - the surest way to say which part of the Board you mean. Every pinned source, Image, or Video and every frame Mesh drew is a flag, so this reaches a pin where it sits (with a pinned PDF, Mesh is told which pages it is looking at) and Mesh's own earlier work beside whatever you have changed since.

• The flag has to be on the page you're on. On another page, Mesh names that page and asks you to switch.
• The Workspace has to be open in your browser. If it isn't, Mesh can't look, and it says so rather than guessing.
• Four pictures at most in one answer, so point it at the right spot instead of sweeping.
• A capture lands in Images only when Board captures Mesh takes is on; off, Mesh still uses the picture for that response.

Note:  Even with no picture, Mesh knows what is on the page — the flags, the pins, its own additions, and their Comments — so it can point you to a marked spot without pretending it saw the Board.

Ask Mesh to add real content

Ask for polished writing, a diagram, or a saved Image, and Mesh arranges it on the Board. Its writing can include formulas, tables, code, lists, and headings. Everything from one request arrives together in one titled Drawn by Mesh frame that moves and resizes as a single object.

If your message included a fresh snip and you're still on that page, Mesh sets the frame down beside the snipped area when it can. Move or resize the whole result together, or delete it in one step.

Outcomes prove placement

When Mesh finishes, an outcome row appears under its answer: Created or Replaced, then the frame's name. Open it and Go to flag jumps straight to the frame for as long as it's there. History & outcomes covers outcome rows in full.

Every frame is a flag

Anything Mesh places arrives as a Board flag named for the frame, so you can point at it from a Note, a Topic, or a chat, and Mesh can look at its own work again the same way. When Mesh redoes that work under a new title, the flag takes the new name unless you renamed it yourself. Mesh never creates standalone flags and never flags your drawing.
